St. Anton am Arlberg is one of Austria ?s oldest and most well-known winter sport resorts. The village is especially known for its expense and exclusive hotels and night life, where many celebrities enjoy the Tiroler hospitality. However, the neighbour villages St. Christoph en Stuben are less expensive. Stuben is very quite and romantic and yet very central. The small village St. Christoph is more a collection of luxurious hotels, which lies on 1,800 meter and therefore always has a thick pack of snow. One of the four lifts brings you to the main ski area of St. Anton.
Together with St. Christoph and Stuben, St. Anton forms a snow safe ski paradise for all levels. This area consists of over 260 km prepared slopes and 185 km of powder snow slopes, accessible though 90 lifts and cable cars (hardly any waiting time). For advanced skiers there are several difficult, unprepared slopes with good powder snow, which sometimes change into bumpy descends. The ski area of Stuben is mainly interesting for tour skiers. From the top of the Albona, there are approximately 10 unprepared slopes. If you prefer to go cross country skiing: in this area you have access to a total of approximately 58 km loipen.
When you just do not feel like skiing at all, St. Anton has a lot to offer as well: 80 restaurants ? 20 bars ? 21 caf ?s ? 4 discos ? 3 dancings ? public sauna ? fitness centre ? public solarium ? massages ? public indoor swimming pool ? parasailing ? indoor tennis ? squash. Even when you bring your children, you can still enjoy everything St. Anton has to offer, since (ski) child care is available as well.
